Project Description

For Jake and His Shame Armour, I illustrated a child-focused story tackling big emotions in a way that feels safe, gentle, and relatable. The goal was to visually support themes of shame, courage, and emotional resilience without overwhelming young readers.

I created a soft yet expressive illustration style using warm gradients, textured shading, and rounded character shapes to keep the story comforting and approachable. From the cover artwork through to the guidebook visuals, every element was designed to feel supportive and empowering, giving children a character they can connect with while reinforcing the book’s therapeutic message.

This project blends emotional storytelling with thoughtful illustration, proving that meaningful design can be both gentle and impactful.
